King Street Sounds Documentary

Event details

Join ADE, King Street Sounds, and Beatport for an exclusive premiere screening of a brand-new documentary at the EYE Film Museum. The documentary, created in partnership with Beatport, delves into the history of the legendary NYC house label at a pivotal moment as it is relaunched by Armada Music. It traces King Street Sounds' beginnings back to the fabled Paradise Garage nightclub, dives into the most iconic releases and explores the perspective of today’s artists and what the future holds for the label. Founded by Hisa Ishioka in 1993, King Street Sounds became a keystone within house music, with deep roots in NYC and Japan’s underground scene. With seminal releases from artists including Blaze, Barbara Tucker, Dennis Ferrer and Kerri Chandler, King Street Sounds remains a respected force in dance music, staying true to its origins while evolving for new generations. Don’t miss this celebration of house music’s legacy and future.
